Palais de la Découverte
This is the local children’s science museum, short walk from the hotel. Created in 1937, it occupies the west wing of the Grand Palais and has exhibits on math, science, astronomy, geology and biology and a cool Zeiss planetarium!

Arts et Métiers
One of the city’s least known museums, the « Arts and Crafts » museum housed in a magnificent building with origins from the sixth century on the edge of the Marais district has a superb collection on the history of science and industry. Their collection includes Pascal’s calculator, Foucault’s pendulum and a Cray II supercomputer!

Grande Galerie de l’Evolution
The Natural History Museum located in the Jardins des Plantes botanical garden has more than 7000 objects on display including such exotic animals as the Sumatran tiger or Jackson’s hartebeest and displays on life sciences and evolution.

Musée de l’Armée
Originally built as a home and hospital for soldiers returning from the Napoleonic campaigns, the Army Museum has a collection of more than half a million artifacts showing the history of war from prehistory to the 20th century, as well as Napoleon’s tomb.

Cité des Enfants
Located in La Villette (20-30 minutes by taxi) the Children’s Museum was created for kids from 2-7 years old and 5-12 years old with exhibition spaces meant to help them develop with activities specific to their ages. Also right next door is the Children’s Science Museum with lots of ever changing exhibits and hands on activities.

Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace
One of the world’s oldest and largest aviation museums occupies over 150,000 square meters at the Le Bourget private airport with such legendary aircraft (more than 150 !) as a Concorde prototype, Russian rockets, missiles, fighters and items of interest from the Montgolfier brothers and the only remaining piece of L’Oiseau Blanc which attempted the first Atlantic crossing, but disappeared…
